Sao Paulo interested in Nilmar

After seeing its former forward Amoroso sign for Corinthians, Sao Paulo is now said to be interested in getting back at their cross-town rivals by going after striker Nilmar, according to reports from the Brazilian media. The player, which came to Corinthians last year from France's Olympique Lyon, is currently injured, and will return only in 2007. The team has reportedly only paid € 2 million of the € 10 million transfer fee it agreed to with the French club, and if the situation is not solved soon the player's rights may fully return to the French champions. Should that be the case, Sao Paulo would be interested in loaning the player for a year starting in January, or even buy his rights with support from local businessmen. Nilmar recently said he's not happy with the treatment he's been getting from Corinthians team officials since getting injured earlier this season.
