Blatter keeps Brazil hopes up

Fifa's president Joseph blatter said on Thursday that Brazil has great chances of hosting the 2014 World Cup. After meeting with the country's president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Blatter said the government's support is crucial for Brazil chances to host the event. Since the rotation schedule points to a South American country to organize the event, and Brazil has been chosen as the natural pre-candidate by the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), all the country has to do is to meet Fifa's expectations for the host country, according to Blatter. Brazilian officials have continuosly admitted the country is still not ready to be home to such an important global event, but the government and soccer authorities have renewed their vows to improve the infrastructure and build or renew stadiums in time for the competition.
