A draw in Dunga's debut

New Brazilian National coach Dunga made his debut on Wednesday with a 1-1 draw against Norway, in Oslo. The team seemed excessively nervous in the first half, maybe a product of the lack of preparation time for a team that had never played together, with a coach making his first appearance in the bench. Things got a little worse right at the beginning of the first half, when Norway scored the first goal.

Luckily, though, Brazil seemed to get better afterwards, and was soon creating quite a few chances of its own. At the 60th minute, Daniel Carvalho scored - also his first International cap - to tie the game. Brazil kept the pressure and still created a few opportunities to go ahead. Apart from a long shot saved by Gomes some 10 minutes before the end of regulation, Norway did not create much more in the game. However, the draw preserved the locals unbeaten record against Brazil. In four matches, two wins and two draws.

Overall, the first match under the new coach was a positive experience, and Dunga seems to be going in the right direction. Two more games next month, back to back against Argentina and Wales in London, shall provide a better glance of the new style Dunga wants the National Team to have. He still has time to experiment with these friendlies, ahead of next year's Copa America and World Cup Qualifying games.
