Tevez leaves Corinthians

It didn't take long for Emerson Leao to cause the first casualty at Corinthians. One week after joining the club, the controversial coach was the main reason behind Carlos Tevez decision to leave the team on Monday. Despite being under contract until next year, the Argentine international did not show up for the training session scheduled for Monday, and said he will not work with Leao anymore. Tevez did not like comments the coach had made about Argentines in general, and about not liking to work with them. Also, the forward was particularly upset after he was removed the captaincy on the team last week. After the game against Botafogo, on Sunday, Tevez had hinted it could have been his last match at the team.

Leao has managed two wins in two games for the defending champions, slowly trying to climb out of the relegation zone in the Brazilian League. Despite the good results, the coach was never well seen by the team's main partner and investor, MSI. If Tevez doesn't find an European team interested in him by the end of the month, when the transfer window closes, he may have to sit out until January, when his contract expires. Either that or hope that his pressure to get Leao sacked will be successful. In either case, the situation is still dark for Corinthians and its fans.
