Fluminense only draws against Gimnasia

And the locals were lucky not to leave the field with a loss. The first goal of the game was only scored in the 82nd minute, when defender Herner took advantage of a corner kick to head the ball into the net, putting the visitors ahead 1-0. Fluminense needed injury time to level the score, with Claudio Pitbull on a free kick. The second leg will be played in La Plate on October 11. Fluminense must win or draw with more than 2 goals scored to advance. A scoreless draw qualifies Gimnasia, while another 1-1 tie takes the match to a penalty shootout.
