Cruzeiro player still recovering after heart attack

Cruzeiro defensive midfielder Diogo is still recovering from surgery after suffering a heart attack during a training session yesterday in Belo Horizonte. The 20-year-old was promptly taken to hospital, and operated to clear an artery in his heart which had become obstructed. He will remain at the hospital for at least three days, recovering from the surgery. Team doctors did not want to comment on what may have caused the heart attack, and don't know yet if the player will be able to resume his career. In 2004, a player from Sao Caetano died from a heart attack during a game against Sao Paulo in the Brazilian League.
