Cruzeiro was also busy in the last day for transfers at the Brazilian First Division. After losing defender and captain Edu Dracena to Turkey's Fenerbahçe, the team from Belo Horizonte announced the signing of left-back Gabriel from Spain's Malaga, defender Andre Luis, who was playing in French side Olympique Marseille, and forward Ferreira, from Uniao Leiria in Portugal.

Corinthians added left-back Cesar, from Inter Milan, to its list of Brazilian players returning to the country. The team had already announced the signing of midfielder Magrao and forward Amoroso on Wednesday.
